Well...this is my second blog post.....I'm really on top of it I know...seems kinda odd to still have this bromance blog when I'm the only single one left...but this post has nothing to do with that. I was looking around on digg.com this morning and came across a few clips for the Colbert Report in which Stephen Colbert was debating the existence of God with an Atheist who was promoting his book and in the comments section somebody wrote "that for those of us that believe in God do you think he would stand beside you, i mean you are the ones who bother him with your prayers and wage war in his name while us atheist don't bother him for ever 1 sec." So I wrote a response and then it got me thinking. How awesome is it that God truly delights in our prayer? I know that sometimes when I pray it seems as though all I do is whine for what I want and argue why I can't have it. While other times all I do is thank God for what he has given me. Does God find delight in both of these types of prayer? I'd like to believe he does. I think it brings him joy to hear me turn to him when I need his wisdom, I think it pleases him when I thank him for what he has given, and I think he smiles and possibly laughs when my prayers don't make any sense to me. Regardless of what we as humans think about our prayers I think God simply says, "come my child, take a seat, and tell me about your day" and it never bothers him to hear whatever it is we have to say, and that blows my mind!
